Young Family Ministry:
Meal Train
A prepared meal to someone in need of help due to the arrival of a new baby can make the most difference to a family in transition. After the birth of a new child, or perhaps an adoption, settling into a new routine can be a difficult task. St. Patrick’s Young Family Ministry is here to help!
We strive to simplify and promote interpersonal relationships between our parishioners through meals. Providing a meal is symbolic of the willingness to help those who are focused on caring for a new baby. The meal is the vehicle that allows the giving party the opportunity to show they care and develop true interpersonal connections throughout our parish.
Here are some helpful tips when providing a meal for a young family.
-
Don’t forget the extras like drinks, condiments, salad dressing, and dessert!
-
If there are other children in the household, consider including a special toy or treat for them to help with what may be a transitional time.
-
If you plan to have something delivered (e.g. pizza), make sure to pay for a tip in advance and specify the delivery time.
-
Deliver your meal in a disposable container.
-
If it’s not already cooked, include clear preparation instructions, i.e. "Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees."
