St. Patrick Church The Circle

Respect Life

It is a strong tenet of the Catholic Church that man is a creation made in the image and likeness of God. Because of this, the Church has been a leader in defending the dignity of life in all its stages. The Church has generously used its immense resources in this pursuit and our Catechism (CCC 2259-2283) unequivocally teaches us how to live our lives in full understanding and defense of this very important tenet of Catholic faith.

What We Do

We are called upon to “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” (Proverbs 31:8) And so, we are called upon to join with our Church leaders in this foundational understanding of our faith. Our intentions in the Respect for Life Center are to more fully educate ourselves and our parish family on these matters:

  • During our Holy Hours, prayers will be included addressing these topics.

  • Speakers will be invited to delve more deeply into the subject; links to appropriate events in our area will be made available on our website.

  • We will coordinate with other parishes and organizations to help our parishioners, especially our teens and young adults, to step confidently into the posture of a strong Catholic philosophy on the topic of respect for life.

Mother Theresa

In the words of Mother Theresa at the National Prayer Breakfast in 1997 in Washington, DC:

“If you want a love message to be heard it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.” All parishioners are welcome to participate in this endeavor. We look forward to walking side by side with you in this journey.
