Mission Appeal Weekend

Help Developing Areas of the World Discover the Gifts of God.

August 12-13, 2017

Very Reverend Ronald Hicks, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will speak at all Masses the weekend of August 12th and 13th about his missionary experience at Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) in Mexico.  NPH is a home dedicated to caring for over 3,600 orphaned and abandoned children in nine different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.  In 2005 Father Hicks began five years as Regional Director of NPH in Central America.

He will share his missionary experience and he will appeal on behalf of the Mission Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago.  The Mission Office coordinates many forms of support for mission dioceses outside the U.S.  From overseeing collections, to offering Mass stipends, to providing funds for mission projects such as building schools and clinics in deprived rural areas around the world, the Mission Office represents the generosity and solidarity of the Archdiocese of Chicago with the Universal Church.  Please support this vital ministry.

Since 1994 Father Ronald Hicks has been a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago.  As a priest, Father Hicks served at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Chicago, St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Orland Hills, as Spiritual Director and Dean of Formation at St. Joseph College Seminary and Dean of Formation at Mundelein Seminary.  Father Hicks was appointed to serve as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2015.  He assists Cardinal Cupich in day to day administration and in the promotion of archdiocesan programming such as Renew My Church.  He maintains a relationship with Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos.
