The Catechetical Center
What is Catechesis?
Catechesis is the transmission of the teachings of Jesus Christ Who is the TRUTH. It provides a deeper and more systematic knowledge of the person and the message of Jesus Christ. It lays out the requirements and promises contained in His Gospel message, and the paths that He has laid down for anyone who wishes to follow Him. It is the teaching of Catholic doctrine leading to the fullness of Christian life. It deals with essentials .... "the word of faith" not in mutilated, falsified or diminished form but whole and entire, in all its rigor and vigor.... (Catechesis in Our Time (Catechesi Tradendae), Apostolic Exhortation, Pope St. John Paul II. October 16, 1979)
The Catechetical Center has one goal: to provide parishioners of St. Patrick with a “deeper and more systematic knowledge of the person and the message of Jesus Christ”... with all the essentials of the Gospel message “not mutilated, falsified or diminished form but whole and entire, in all its rigor and vigor.”
What We Do
We intend to accomplish this goal by publishing articles in our parish bulletin, on our website and other social media... by offering a variety of resources including recommendations re conferences, speakers and websites and printed material that foster a greater understanding and appreciation of our Catholic faith. We will have as our seminal document from which our Circle will rely: The Catechism of the Catholic Church.
