Prayer

How do I fit God into my busy life?
It starts with prayer.

Rounded Rectangle: What is prayer? “For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.” - St. Therese of Lisieux

Faith calls us to serve and respond to God through prayer.  Prayer has often been described as communication, communion, or dialogue with God.  It is the human response to God’s revelation and activity in the world.

Prayer is an essential component of our spiritual growth.  Yet our “Spiritual Check-Up Survey” found that men and parents with children under 18 are struggling to find time to pray daily.  As a parish, we have to teach and create more opportunities to grow in prayer as individuals and as a community.

Rounded Rectangle: “Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing the gift of God himself.” - Mother Teresa In response to the survey findings, St. Patrick’s has begun a “Prayer Initiative” that will examine ways to assist people in developing a rich and meaningful prayer life.
