Who Do You Say That I Am? Reflecting on the Question Jesus Asks All of His Disciples 2 Up-Coming Guest Speakers--Father Lodge and Father Hennessey |
![]() |
This is the question we will explore at St. Patrick's during the 8-week Winter 2008 Session of our Thursday morning Scripture group. We can all come up with some quick answers (see Matthew 16:16 for Peter's response), but do those quick answers really begin to respond to the question of who Jesus is for us? The goal of our Winter Session is not so much to learn about Jesus as it is to come to know Jesus in a more personal way. The Winter Session begins January 24 and ends March 13. We will meet from 9:30 until 11:00 in the O'Gara Parish Activity Center. A $15 fee payable at the first meeting covers the cost of all study materials. No previous Bible study experience is necessary - all are welcome!
Our study and reflection will be based on the Scriptures and on a commentary entitled The Names of Jesus by Father Stephen J. Binz. We will also use this commentary during the Spring 2008 Session, “Go and Make Disciples,” when the Thursday morning Scripture group will continue to reflect on the person of Jesus and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. The Spring Session will begin after Easter and continue until May 22.
To sign up for the Winter 2008 session or to obtain more information, please contact Susan Carlson, Marti Alworth, Ray Loman, or Joyce Loman.
