IMPACT Book Pick-Up

Mission Statement of the Religious Education Ministry We, the community of St. Patrick, accept our parish responsibility for providing religious education for all of our children.  The Religious Education Ministry recognizes the parent as the Primary Educator of the children and seeks to assist the parents with religious education as mandated by the Church.  Religious Education experiences and instruction shall be provided to students with inclusion and communication with parents and famlies, while appreciating the uniqueness and individuality of the learning process.  We see parental and family involvement to complement and strengthen the formal education and activities provided by the parish.

Philosophy of Our Religious Education Program

The philosophy of our Religious Education Program is based on the premise that all the children of St. Patrick Parish share the need for ongoing religious formation.   

Our program takes place in three stages:

Kindergarten

Kindergarten meets on Sunday mornings at 8:50 am to 9:50 am in the O'Gara Activity Center. We meet approximately twice a month for a total of 14 sessions a year.

 

Grades 1-5

Grades 1-5 meets on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday at 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm in the O'Gara Activity Center. Our students not only learn the basics of their faith but pray, celebrate and serve together.

Impact

IMPACT is our middle school program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. The IMPACT program has been put together on the basis of the stages of faith development and psychological development of the young adolescent.

During the school year each student is required to complete 15 Religious Education units chosen from 3 of the 5 areas offered in the IMPACT program. They are:

·          Mini Courses

·          Prayer

·          Retreats

·          Service

·          Large Group Presentations

Become a Catechist!

Catechists are a constant need for our Religious Education programs to be sustained. We encourage parents, grandparents, and parishioners to consider teaching in one of our programs. It is only with your help and participation that that we can accomplish the task of passing on our faith to our children.

The rewards of teaching always far outweigh the effort!
