Cor ad cor loquitur: Heart speaks to heart
The St. Patrick Women’s Cor groups provide a way to connect with other women face to face or heart to heart. “Cor” is taken from our motto, Cor ad cor loquitur which means “heart speaks to heart.” These small groups gather for discussion once a month from October through May. Each month members are provided with two short readings and a few questions for reflection on a topic spiritual or philosophical in nature. Our discussions are launched from the readings.
Although our topics are not meant to examine Catholic theology, the discussions have a very definite Catholic perspective. Each gathering gives us insight into the way our beliefs and our faith are integral to who we are and how we live the gift of each day of our lives. We come away from each meeting with “food” for thought. Through our reflections on the readings, others in our group can see clearly how God lives in each of us. Cor groups allow us to connect personally with the women of St. Patrick and to hear God’s voice speaking through them.
The theme for our Cor discussions this year is “Blessed Among Women.” Each month, we will look briefly at the life of a holy woman who successfully lived her life as a disciple of Jesus (some of them canonized saints, some not). The coordinating reading will focus on a particular strength she revealed to help shed light on our own path of discipleship. Join Us!
